elevation training
I am looking forward to this, but I am not a "camper girl", so you should all have a few good laughs. FYI on the training for this hike, the best training is doing a lot of short hikes and a couple of longer hikes, (hike 2x per week starting in Sept.) The stair climber at the gym, simulates the uphill part, but not so good for the downhill part. I haven't hiked this one yet, but I looked up some stuff about training for the Grand Canyon! Also keep in mind that the elevation will make it more challenging. Maybe we can do some informal hikes before we go!
